Bedugul Geothermal Field is located in the North-Central area of Bali. The field is approx. 70 km North of Denpasar and 30 km Southeast of Singaraja. The land in the project area is a mixture of native forest on steep volcanic cone, cultivated lands, planted pine forest and three lakes (Buyan, Bratan, Tamblingan). The nearest village of Candikuning is located approximately 7 km East of the center field.
The field is located within the quaternary volcanic highlands dominated by andesitic lava and pyroclastic rocks. Several areas of surface thermal features occur within, and on the periphery of, the 10 km-wide Bratan Caldera. Numerous post-caldera volcanic vents indicated a continuing supply of heat to this major volcanic center, demonstrating potential for a high temperature (>200 ℃) system.
