2021 Work Program & Budget Proposal of BEL approved by PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy based on letter No149/PGE000 / 2021-S0 and has been discussed & received support from the regulator (the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources – EBTKE) according to the WP&B 2021 Expose meeting in May 2021.

AMDAL permit approval from Governor of Bali Province on 20 October 2005.
The project was suspended based on the Regional People’s Representative Assembly (DPRD) of Bali Province Decree No. 7/2005 concerning the Rejection of the Development of a Geothermal Power Plant (PLTP) in Bedugul and Bali Governor’s Letter No. 660.1/ 1947/ bID.1/ Bapedalda

First amendment of JOC and ESC, the new capacity of 175 MW and development scheme of 4 stages = 10 MW + (3 x 55 MW) was approved.

Bedugul Geothermal plant project was allowed to continue.

KEPPRES 39/1997 is issued, big project mainly Independent Power Producer projects were suspended due to the economic crisis.
1996-1998
BEL has conducted Exploration Drilling: 6 Deep temp. gradient holes (TCH-series) to an average depth of 1340 meters, MT and Gravity Survey and 3 full-sized wells (BEL-series) to an average depth of 2851 meters.
1995
BJOC (BEL & PERTAMINA) and ESC (BEL, PERTAMINA & PLN) were signed to develop geothermal electric power plant with capacity 414MW in Bedugul, Bali (KEPPRES 45/1991).
1994
Established in Bermuda.
Granted permit to perform exploration within the Batukaru forest in Bedugul, Bali.
BEL has invested $42-45 million US in the project for survey & drilling 3 exploration wells.
